Giving Twitter a Try

For the last week I have been using Twitter.  If you don’t understand Twitter and how it could be beneficial check out the video below.  It could be a very neat tool if I only had more friends in real life using it.  One thing I have notice, is that I don’t keep up with my facebook status as much when I’m using twitter.

The “New Kids” are Back!

This is video from the Today Show this morning announcing that the “New Kids on the Block” are returning with a new album this summer and tour this fall. They will again be on the Today show May 16th to perform.

This video cracks me up because of all the 30 something women screaming their heads of during the whole interview.  I will need to take my wife to this show in the fall as she was a huge blockhead in 1989.  The funny thing is that I saw them in concert by accident in the late 80′s when they opened up for Tiffany, my junior high crush.

Star Wars for 3 year olds

Last week I blogged about introducing “Star Wars” to my kids.  Today Deb  found this little gem on you tube.  Good stuff.

Connection with Family Make Young People the Happiest

AP/MTV Poll: Family Ties key to youth happiness

For me this really is not all that surprising. For years I have been telling parents that they are the number 1 influencer in their child’s life. Every time I tell them that I get this general feeling that they don’t believe me.

This is just more confirmation of the great need to continue to partner with parents in youth ministry. I think one of the greatest things that a youth ministry can do is to help parents make significant spiritual connection with their kids. Lately, we have really been trying to give parents some resources to help them ask their students the right questions after major events.

Speaking of Family Ties here is something to enjoy:
