Today marks 2 weeks in our new house. I am amazed due to my wife’s good taste and Ikea how good the place looks. All day today we were putting up light fixtures, coat racks, curtain rods, pictures, mirrors, etc. The following pictures are a little dark because they were taken on my cell phone, but you get the idea.

Last week I introduced “Star Wars” to my kids. They really seemed to like it despite the fact that they didn’t understand a lot of the political elements of it. The interesting thing is watching them see it through eyes that have never seen episode 4,5 and 6. We started with Episode 1. Of course the their favorite character was Anakin. The funny thing is that they keep asking my when Darth Vader is coming. It is interesting to watch them process it without knowing Anakin’s fate. So we are at Episode 3, which is rated PG 13. I am trying to figure out out to navigate that for my young kids.
Finally after 5 month of commuting 70 miles almost everyday we are moving this Saturday. The cool thing is that the house we are moving to is only 1 mile from the church. That sure does beat 70! Whew!
We sold our house in Mankato; but not really. Someone from our new church bought our house from us so we could get out of it. As of Friday it is out of our hands and we will be in our new home by Saturday next week. Over the past few weeks Tammy has been packing like crazy. It feels like it is a never ending process.
If you are reading this please throw up a prayer for our family as we leave many friends in Mankato and are transitioning to a new community.
Now I’m all for my kid making some valentines for her class. However, she had to make over 60 valentines tonight. Holy Cow! This seems like a little overboard.
This past Friday I took the plunge and got the big V. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. The worse was the big needle they punched me with. Tammy was very excited by the whole thing because she got to help the doctor during the procedure. However, 5 days later and I am still pretty sore. We are really at peace with the three children we have. We are excited to move on to this new season of our lives. Like I said, LOTS of changes.
